What Is DME?
DME refers to medical-grade equipment designed to assist with daily function, recovery from injury, or chronic condition management. For pain and spine care, this often includes braces that stabilize joints or support healing from musculoskeletal injuries.
We provide PEDAC-certified DME, meaning it meets Medicare billing and coding standards for reimbursement. Our physicians prescribe equipment only when it’s medically necessary, and our staff helps handle insurance pre-authorization to estimate your out-of-pocket costs. Please note: it’s still the patient’s responsibility to confirm final coverage with their insurance provider.

You’ll receive your DME during your visit, avoiding the need for a separate trip to a medical supply store. Our team will also demonstrate how and when to wear your device.
How to Get Started with DME from Louisiana Pain Specialists
You’ll need a qualifying diagnosis and a prescription from a physician. If you don’t already have these, schedule an appointment with one of our providers. Most insurances cover DME—but always confirm your specific benefits.
