Louisiana Pain Specialists and Crescent View Surgery Center Host StimWave Training Lab

Louisiana Pain Specialists is committed to providing patients the most innovative treatment options available for chronic pain. Along with Crescent View Surgery Center in Metairie, Louisiana, Louisiana Pain Specialists recently hosted a peripheral nerve stimulation training lab using the StimWave technology. Physicians from multiple pain practices throughout Louisiana came together to collaborate and to learn more about the unique benefits of StimWave for peripheral nerve pain.

Stimwave offers two types of neurostimulator devices that provide long-lasting pain relief.  The Freedom SCS System and StimQ PNS System relieve pain by sending electrical stimulation to block those pain signals from reaching the brain.  Unlike any other device, Stimwave is powered wirelessly and without an implanted battery

Freedom SCS (Spinal Cord Stimulator) System is used to treat chronic intractable pain typically associated with your back and legs by stimulating nerves along your spine. The StimQ PNS (Peripheral Nerve Stimulator) system treats chronic intractable pain by stimulating individual nerves throughout your body.

 How Big is the Device?

  • Freedom Stimulators are revolutionary, compact micro-stimulators with a flexible circuit board at only 0.069 inches, it fits through a standard gauge needle which allows for placement with minimally invasive surgery typically as an outpatient procedure.

Am I a Candidate for the Freedom Stimulator?

  • Freedom Stimulators are used for a variety of chronic pain conditions, including back and neck pain, shoulder pain, pelvic pain, and many other conditions.

How Will I Know if the Freedom Stimulator Will Help Me?

  • Before a permanent Freedom Stimulator is implanted, a patient is able to test out their pain relief through a trial procedure. A trial stimulator is percutaneously inserted for a therapy evaluation; results will be reviewed with your physician at the end of the trial period to determine if the pain relief was satisfactory.

Stimwave Freedom Stimulators provide you with true “freedom” from batteries, cables, and implanted generators. The external compact device uses simple buttons to change therapy levels and can be recharged easily.

If you have tried traditonal treatment modalities for your chronic pain, seek out an appointment with a doctor at Louisiana Pain Specialists to discuss if peripheral nerve stimulation by StimWave might be right for you!
